Healthy Start Network Privacy Statement
The Parenting Research Centre (PRC) and the Australian Family
and Disability Studies Research Collaboration (AFDSRC) acknowledge
and respect the privacy of individuals. The information requested
from you
when you join the Healthy Start Network is being collected
and held by the PRC and the AFDSRC for the purposes of:
- processing
your registration of interest in joining the Healthy Start
Network
- keeping you informed about upcoming events
- improving the quality of our services
- planning, product development and research.
The only
intended recipients of your information are the Healthy
Start Project Team, made up of staff of the PRC, the AFDSRC,
and the Healthy Start Leaders in each state and territory.
The provision of information
is voluntary, but if this information is not provided,
we may be unable to process your request. As a general
rule the PRC and
the AFDSRC
will
not disclose or use personal information about you without
your consent unless use or disclosure is required by law
or under law, or it is reasonably
believed that the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary
on behalf of a law enforcement body. The PRC and the AFDSRC
will take all reasonable
steps to make sure that the personal information collected
that is disclosed is correct, complete, and up to date.
In accordance with relevant legislation
and our own Privacy Policy, you have the right to access
and alter personal information held by us concerning yourself.
To comply with our obligations under the National Privacy
Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988, amended by
the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000, the PRC
and the AFDSRC adopt the
Privacy Policy
of the
Parenting Research Centre. The policy sets out how the
privacy of individuals who deal with the PRC and the AFDSRC
is respected and managed. The policy
