The Healthy Start website provides information and services designed to support the professional practice of those who provide education, support and/or protection for members of families led by a parent with a learning difficulty or intellectual disability.

This privacy statement applies to the website www.healthystart.net.au and the online networking platform www.healthystartnetwork.ning.com.

Your personal information is protected under the Privacy Act 1988. Healthy Start collects personal information if you choose to provide it. You can choose to provide your email address and information about yourself to receive information from Healthy Start or to communicate with others through the Healthy Start online forums. Your personal information will not be used other than for the purpose that you provide it without your consent.

Uses of personal information by Healthy Start include the provision of information and peer networking services; the development, maintenance and promotion of this website; evaluating Healthy Start information and networking services, and conducting approved research. No information that personally identifies you is collected when you simply browse the website.

Healthy Start will provide access to, and make corrections to, your personal information at your request, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988.  Personal information will not be disclosed or used for purposes other than the stated uses, functions and activities of Healthy Start, unless the disclosure is required or authorised by law.

Healthy Start may disclose non-identifying statistical information collected on this website to the Department of Family and Community Services, who fund Healthy Start, and to organisations conducting approved research, such as universities and research centres.

Statistical information that does not personally identify you is collected to ensure that the website operates properly and to improve online functionality and services. This information could include your server address, the domain name (such as .gov, .com, .edu), pages accessed or downloaded, search terms used, and the date and time of site visits.
